The minibosses are a breeze due to the lockdown as you said, but I am curious how you expect people to down bosses like loki and little boss with the way the shield viking's air game works O.o. The Kraken was rough for the start, but easier once I knew his patterns and the shield viking's speed/momentum. I can understand this, but to further push the ball on the shield viking. I was thinking since he can lock down almost every miniboss in the game it was ok for him to have a harder time soloing end bosses. In the end it felt like blocking that attack made it feel less impact-full so i made it break block. The Kraken headbutt block was something I went back and forth with during development. That is to force the shield guy to at least play to the Krakens abilities otherwise he can sit still for most of the fight. Not being able to block large attacks like the Krakens headbutt is on purpose. He is the most difficult character to solo our large bosses with. The shield viking was meant to be a slower character that has a reliable block and uses his freeze mechanic to cancel any attack he can't block. Ps: I played him with a dual wielder and the hammer girl, and on most stages I did most of the killing. Just remember, fastest way to avoid an attack is to move in the Y axis. I found it strong, specially in a party, but managed to solo everything as well, and played lots of hard difficulty solo as well. When you get your charged rune attack, you can charge it while blocking, and releasing it will freeze lots of enemies around, making them sitting ducks to you and your party.Īlso, the frame of your rune attack give you invulnerability, and you can freeze lots of minor bosses as well, stopping their attack animation whenever you want. Didn't know you could cancel animation with others, kinda missed it, but the shield is a tank, it blocks almost all atacks, except bosses charged attacks and a few others. I played only the shield viking, and I liked. IT is a difficulty that is there only because of how silly the mechanic is. So, I just wanted to point this out to the dev team to see if this really was an over sight or not, cause as it stands. It can't cancel combos like the others can O.o. This viking is so slow that it cannot get out of the way in time. ![]() When he rears his head back to poke you with his beak, why can't they be blocked? I can understand the wave attack, but why not the beak? It's like you gave a viking amazing defense and forgot to turn them on or something. The strong hits from bosses (Which are the problem) still go right through the shield. To block the damage enemies do to me, but it only seems to block basic hits. I took the archer viking up to lvl 46 and got really use to getting in and out of fights. So, you give this guy a shield, he has the ability to block, but it only blocks basic damage? Now, I am not sure if this is an oversight by the devs, but really? The other 3 chars get a dodge and that dodge can be used to completely negate damage via iframe and or just getting away from an attack.
